My name is Pavel Bačovský (PhD, University of Colorado Boulder) and I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Politics at Bates College.

I study the impact of new technologies on political behavior, predominantly in the US and other OECD countries. In my research, I focus on the development of political attitudes among children and adolescents, especially among frequent users of online media and digital entertainment. I investigate how young people form attitudes towards political parties, political participation, and broader concepts such as freedom and democracy. I am also interested in the nexus of politics and leisure activities more broadly, and in various topics of political psychology.

This website will provide you with all the details you may ever need regarding my research and teaching. I also share replication data here.
